Amanda + Taylor + Fenway | Powder Hounds

This past Saturday those of us in Western Washington were treated to one of our rare, perfect Spring days. 55 degrees, no clouds, no snow, no hail.  Absolutely beautiful.  It was on this gorgeous morning that I found myself driving up I-90, blasting the Jackson 5, and realizing that I was a very lucky girl.  Today the engagement session I was off to shoot was going to include this beautiful weather on top of pristine snow, a fantastically fun couple and an adorable, wiggly golden retriever.  What more could I ask for?

I met Amanda and Fenway in North Bend and hopped in their car to meet up with Taylor at Alpental. They're both avid skiiers and decided the mountain would be the ideal place for their engagement photos. We tossed snow balls for Fenway, made snow angels, and I got to see Taylor glide down the mountain with Amanda on the front of his skis. Don't be fooled, it's way harder than it looks. I had so much fun with the three of them and although Taylor admitted to me that he'd been dreading our shoot all week, I think even he'd have to admit we had a pretty great time. Thanks especially for putting up with the seemingly never ending snow angels. :)

Amanda and Taylor, thank you so much for coming up with such a fun and personalized idea for your session and taking time out on a gorgeous Saturday morning to play in the snow with me. And for the almond butter rice cake. Mmmm.

Samuel + Laura | 100 Bottles of Wine on the Wall

In water one sees one′s face, but in wine one beholds the heart of another. - Old French Proverb

I already knew in the days leading up to Laura and Samuel's wedding that this day was going to be awesome.  First of all, as a wedding photographer it's always nice to shoot at an amazing venue (the absolutely fabulous Januik Winery) - especially when it happens to be less than five minutes from your own home. That basically kicks ass.  It's also nice to start your work day at 3pm and have a gorgeous bridal party to work with who're also super fun. That in itself would've been enough.  But this wedding just kept getting better.

Wine corks, oak casks, walls of bottles and beautiful art, attentive staff, amazing food (seriously, TO DIE FOR...), fresh chocolate chip cookies and yummy sliders at the end of the night, great music, great people, great atmosphere. Great. Great. Great.

And then the icing on the wedding cake- Laura and Samuel.  Simply put, I adore these two. Not only are they both beautiful inside and out, but they are both extremely funny, charming, laid-back, and witty.  A few times a year I get lucky enough to book a wedding with a couple who I just don't want to let go of.   Sam and Laura, I know that I gained a lot more than just a wedding when we met for beers last year.  You two have become my friends and I am so excited to share not just your wedding photos, but all of your future life-changing moments.

Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart for inviting me into your lives. I am a very lucky girl to have such wonderful clients, clients that I now call friends.  :)
